If you're unhappy with 6th Gen, it's probably because the 6th Generation wasn't designed for you as a priority.
The 6th Generation was designed FIRST with trying to get old fans who left the series to return, SECOND for getting new players to the series to play, and LASTLY for the old players. The low number of Pokemon is there because Gamefreak decided that all the old Pokemon would be enough for the First 2 audiences because they'd see them as new.
The lack of Post Game content is because they chose to put more effort into the main game as to hook the first two audiences again.
You're just going to have to wait for Z version if you want a game targeted at you.
