Go visit the Showderp general. You know what they do? They take shitty pokemon with retarded movesets and dominate Smogonfags with cookie-cutter teams with them. You know why they can do that? Because the idiots who play Showdown have no skill. They rely on luck and the Smogon site to lead them to victory. Therefore, Showderp 'mons can defeat them when their champ has enough skill.
But a lot of the time, they simply lose. That's because when someone has skill AND good pokemon, they're unstoppable. This is what you fail to understand. Sure, you might beat your friend with your bros, or you might be able to complete the story mode, but guess what? When you face someone with more skill than you, you're screwed no matter what pokemon you have, bar none.
