Charizard X could be a LOT worse. It's just overdesigned. The shoulder spikes cross the line into super unnecessary territory.

Also Blaziken's Mega Evolution looks cool, and it has a good ability, so I wouldn't call it useless. I'll certainly use it.

And personally I think Delphox looks fine? They all do if you can look past some glaring stupid design choices.

Chesnaught seems to be having the same problem as Tyrantrum. Great defenses and attack to dish out some damage before they go down, but they have bad defensive typing.

I'm pretty sure the only people who think that fairy types are going to break the metagame are the imaginary fairy fans inside of dragon fans' heads. What they're going to do is shift the metagame. They won't even do all that much to stop physical dragons, since most fairies' defense is mediocre, but they'll do a lot to stop outrage spam, and Lati@s use in general.

Also, while I like steel resisting ghost and dark, it probably needed to lose at least one resistance, with fairy coming in and steel resisting them. I think the ghost resistance should have been kept, since fairy has a dark resistance.

Megas of already OU's won't really be used that much. So many of them rely on their items and Chompy even gets slower. Mega Scizor will need a huge selling point to consider using him over standard CB. (like sanic speed and Tough Claws, at minimum)

I really love the fairy-type. I'm always a sucker for cuteshit and Dragon really needed to go down a notch. I really wish there were more traditional fairies, though, so far we have only three (Gardy, Mawile, Keybro). Hopefully we'll get a Ghost/Fairy Misdreavus. Now THAT's scary shit.

Steel not resisting Ghost is retarded. Dark I can understand since fairy nerfed it, but they basically made Ghost the new Dragon. And god knows, they'll probably make Draco Meteor: Ghostly Boogaloo because they're GF and they're shit at balancing the metagame.

I don't get what these retards are saying about no post game. There is a post-game, Kanpachi was knee-deep into it before he pussied out.

And yeah I was pretty mad about Ice too, that could have gotten a resistance or two at least. Seems like every other type is better at using ice type moves than ice type itself.

Ghost makes more sense than Dark in my mind. Ghost pokemon might at least have the justification that since they're intangible they can go right through metal, but I don't think an armored knight is really going to feel it if you try to kick him in the nuts.

maybe you weren't battling seriously before Steel was introduced. Steel and Dark were REQUIRED for the good of the game, or Psychic would continue to rape everything everywhere. Fighting was useless type do to dying to Psychic.

Now with so many Dragon type pokes, this insanely powerful type needed to be nerfed as well.

Remember, back in RBY we only had Dragonite, and in GSC we got Kingdra. Dragons were rare enough to not need dedicated check. Ever since Hoenn Dragons started dominating the meta (Salamence joined in 3rd gen, then Garchomp in 4th, and Haxorous/Hydreigon/Kyurem in 5th).

tl;dr

Cute and cuddly might be the the first thing you think of when it comes to Fairy, but it's certainly not all there is.

Take a look at YuGiOh - there is a fair number of weakling Fairies to be sure, but among them are a lot of slick looking bosses with more of a Holy Knight/Celestial Being look to them.

Once per battle you can temporarily mega evolve a pokemon. They get stat boosts and stuff but the biggest thing is some of them can change type by doing this.

I fear that one day Gamefreak will give Arceus a mega. You can't be called god of all Pokemon yet be weaker than 6 of your underlings (Mega Rayquaza, Primal Groudon and Kyogre, Mega Mewtwo X and Y, and Ultra Necrozma).
