So why does does Blaziken get a mega evolution, but not Swampert or Sceptile? Or the Gen 2 starterr? Or even the gen 4/5 starters?

I get why Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur get them, being classics and all, but what makes Blaziken special?

And for that matter, why the fuck does Charizard get TWO mega forms while Blastoise and Venusaur only get one?

What the fuck Gamefreak, what the fuck?

It wouldn't be a big deal if the other starters got changed as radically as Charizard X did. The drastic colour change makes you think "Yeah he's powered up". Venusaur gets a flower and Blastise gets arm cannons, they're very underwhelming in comparison. So not only is Charizard the only starter that has a Mega Evolution that actually looks Mega but he gets another one to boot.

Yeah Venusaur and Blastoise got fucking shafted.

Really, every Mega Evolution to date has been a case of pandering to fanboys by giving already strong Pokemon even more absurdly powerful forms.

I wouldn't be surprised if extra Megas became like a monthly event. One or two new megas to get every month or so.

Kangaskahn and Ampharos sure is random, but I think they're pushing for some sort of new changed gimmicks to make them reasonably good to be put in any team.

They made it pretty clear in the very first Mega Blaziken add, that it won't be available during normal game play. It's obvious that they're gonna keep giving mega stones for the rest of the Pokemon they already programmed into the game, and which fortunately we don't have a way to leak. Because it would take the fun out of it.

Imagine they give out a Christmas themed mega stones. X gets MegaJynx, Y gets MegaBeartic.
It's a way to keep the games fresh for a long time, and also to boost sales because they're event only and if your fave is getting one, you don't wanna miss out!

Most megas are from gen 1. Most

Most will be from gen 2
>gen 8
Most will be from gen 3

Etc.

Then again, there's always the sequels/thirds, remakes, and DLC to do this instead of waiting each gen.

As for the random starters and why some get megas and others don't - it probably has to do with popularity, though I assume they'll all get one at some point.

Because blaziken has a lot of history to it, and GF likes it a lot.

It was at first going to be a 600 BST fire legendary that was obtainable like cresselia and heatran, but then was changed to be a pokemon that evolves once from a baby chick to a griffin/dragon hybrid. Then they made it a starter.

Back when they revealed blaziken in the first corocoro leak for Ruby/Sapphire, it was still going to be a legendary/special pokemon. But it was changed during the development and was then made into a starter pokemon

Wait until all the information about all the mega evolutions are compiled after the game officially launches before going on a bitch fest.
