Did I really miss out with Black/White 1/2? I have read on multiple sites that Black/White 2 are both loaded to the brim with content, has tons of postgame shit, and actually has some challenge. I know its a little late considering how X/Y will be out in a few days, but was BW 2 really that good?

Keep in mind Diamond was what turned me off in the first place. Christ that was boring as shit.

B/W was pretty good. The thing I liked most was how there was a giant amount of stuff to do after beating the E4. Like, the E4 is basically only the 50% mark in B/W. If you're one of those "two regions nao!" fags, then I think you'll love B/W, since it's practically like having two regions.

B/W 2 has the Pokemon World Tournament, and its actually pretty fucking hard, considering you can only have 3 mons and you can't guarantee you'll have coverage . Especially the Champion Cup. Not to mention the story , while still nothing to rave about, was a hell of alot darker than any pokemon game to date.

Yeah, Gen V was fucking fantastic. I was always bored and annoyed by fourth gen, then Black and White came out. They are a lot of fun, all of the new pokemon are good imo, and there is plenty of challenge. I would def suggest you give it a go. Play both too, the original and the sequel. It's nice experiencing the consistency of a sequel. Make sure you know someone with White 2 so they can give you challenge mode.

BW2 Postgame:
PWT, which is hard but doable without EV training. (aside from the DLC cups)
Black Tower/White Treehollow, which a Pokemon endurance run. You get EXP from it, so it's one of the best post-game leveling areas in the francise
Pokestar Studios is a fun diversion where you need to solve puzzle battles with what you're given. Unfortunately, a single crit will often force you to start over
Musicals still exist if you feel compelled to do them
The battle subway, which is the standard Battle Tower

Black/White had a better story than other main series pokemon games. 156 or so Pokemon were added as well.

Black2/White2 had the PWT.
Nostalgia and a good challenge all in one place. Much more entertaining than the Battle subway with lots of memorable music.

In fact, looking at Kalos' selection of new mons also makes me appreciate Gen V's crop more as well.

I struggled to finish B/W, not sure why. I didn't dislike the new pokemon but at the same time I had no real desire to do stuff like the Battle Subway so I ended up playing it the least out of any of the games. Really enjoyed B/W2 though.

I sold my 3DS aqua for 100 bucks over a year ago when the PSVITA came out, ya know when nintendo had NOTHING out. I still like my vita and shocking I use it more than I did the 3ds despite not owning many games for it, but now I am looking to rebuy a 3ds. I want it used and I wont go higher than 100, else I'll feel like I lost money.

B2/W2 are a lot better. Tons and tons of Pokemon to catch, plenty of post-game content and the Pokemon designs are better too.

I love BW. Started BW2 when it first came out, got 1 badge in and didn't touch it again until last month to try and catch up before XY drop.
What a mistake! BW2 is GREAT so far! I've just arrived at the 8th gym. This is really a great game, and the main story can be gone through pretty quick. I've been blowing through the gyms with Pokes 10 levels below the Pokes I'm fighting against. Sandslash is a fucking beast.

i stopped playing in the southeastern region where you start the game in BW1. i think it was the route before or after accumula town

I'm only here to see XY leaks. I don't care much for the adventure part of the Pokemon games, I'm more into battling.

Battle simulators fulfill my main interest, though to say I don't desire an entertaining, comprehensive Pokemon world is false.

Truthfully, one generation (4 to 5) isn't enough of a difference to compel me, and I now consider the first games of a new generation as "incomplete"/ beta versions.

If XY+ comes out, I'll probably buy it.

Magby was what I was using for a while, but I realized I think I want my team to be stuff I never really tried before. For that reason he and Darumaka should sit this one out. So... what do you all think? Growlithe instead?

And I'm thinking of Sandile as my Dark and/or Ground type for the run (replacing Golurk from prior game). Would Moxie be better than Intimidate, you think?

B/W/2 always bothered me with the abudance/seeming importance of shit that wasn't actually in the game, like the Dream World. That, and the C-Gear, which would've worked so much fucking better with the 3DS.

I might go back and play it some day but as it stands I haven't even beaten the E4 in White or the second gym in White 2.

I have been playing through white 2 for the first time

you only have to use HMs at a few parts to progress the story and they hand you everything, you never have to find the bike or go out of your way for an hm

I never finished my white but I feel white 2's story is lacking severely in comparison to the bit I played. I was impressed by how different all the areas looked compared to white 1, and I can tell there is a lot of extra content to do after beating the elite4, I'm almost there

its an interesting play through but forgetable. The routes also all looked the same, some of the blandest places in pokemon besides the city area

Yesterday in W2 I got 3 critical captures in a row (on the same Pokemon). The first 2 didn't even capture it, and the 3rd in a row caught it. It was a Sneasel.

3 crit caps in a row has to be insane odds.

Just beat the game last night after doing the same.

Used Maractus and Krookodile nearly exclusively. Was forced to use Lucario after shoving Exp Share on him for no reason other than having at least three pokemon I could rely on.

Was one of the most fun game clears I've had in a long time

Plenty of them. I downloaded Dream Radar ages ago, and they give out Evo stones like candy in that game.

I have 4 Thunder Stones, 4 Water Stones, 6 Leaf Stones, 9 Fire Stones, 9 Moon Stones, and a whopping SEVENTEEN Sun Stones.

And none of them can be transferred to XY when the Bank comes around.

There is no 3rd version anymore, retard. There hasn't been since 2008 when Platinum came out.

HGSS didn't have a 3rd version. BW didn't have a 3rd version. If you think BW2 are a 3rd version, you're legitimately retarded, they're sequels and completely different games from BW. The only similarity they have they take place in the same region.

Remake don't have third versions. BW2 existed because BW had a decent storyline. If XY gets a meh tier storyline the likes of RBY/GSC/RSE/DPPt, then it will probably get a third version.

Will there be a Z? Maybe. Maybe not. But don't act like it's set in stone that there will never be a third version ever again.

No fucking shit? It was a paired remake. FR/LG didn't have a third version either.

I think it's pretty fucking safe to say BW2 were exceptions that prove the rule. Pokemon Z will definitely be a thing. Especially considering fucking Zygarde, a Pokemon starting with Z, just like Xerneas/Yveltal start with X/Y is a thing, as well as the fact Pokemon X/Y/Z versions shows off the "3D" aspect of the game, rather than shoving the 3D subtitle in like most 3DS games (Ocarina of Time 3D! Starfox 3D! Super Mario 3D Land! etc)
