Lizards and other reptiles are cold-blooded. This means they cannot regulate their body temperatures; they slowly warm or cool along with their environment. Similarly, a lizard in the sun gains energy and raises metabolism, in the shade it becomes sluggish and lethargic. And it's not that they "heat up faster" it's that they "don't cool off." Reptiles spend MOST of the day in the sun so they can get enough energy to hunt and survive the cooler night.
This is specifically a sun-basking lizard requiring a higher body temp than normal. It's stats have extremely high Speed...due to sunbathing.
You know that EVERY terrarium or reptile enclosure has a big, strong HEAT LAMP in them for a very good reason, right?
