So I wanted to do a quick run through of Pokemon White on my R4 so I could experience the Gen 5 pokemon before I start X on day one.

Is there a way to use action replay on a R4 so that I can have constant repel or turn off random encounters at will?

I buy all my pokemon games because obviously I want to play online. I didn't play any gen 5 and I just want to experience it quick before x and y come

The game's pretty short anyway, if you marathon it you can handle it. I beat it in fewer days than that on my first run.
I mean you won't get to do any post-game stuff and you might miss a few things but hey.

Personally I'm playing through White, then Black 2 which I bought legit, then wait for Y. I played Black just when it was released, and I noticed I'd reached victory road around 10 hours before my platinum file, it might be because of leaving the DS on but I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks it's shorter. Hell, on my White file I reached the second gym form the first in no time at all.

Problem is, Black 2 is pretty long.
Comparison: In BW, the Elite Four's levels are late 40s - early 50s.
In BW2, they're late 50s with the champion hitting 60s.

I've not played Black 2 but I'm really exciting from all the changes I've heard, but how is it much longer than black exactly? It's the same world and areas, right?

No, they added at least five new cities that the main story takes you through. The main story itself is a lot longer and the way the main plot resolves differently from BW makes everything much longer.
It is really good though. I prefer BW's main game but BW2 is the best game to stick all your best Pokemon on and go to town in by far.

It really shines in post-game content and the fact that you can catch Pokemon from other gens in it.
Early game options include Riolu, Azurill, Mareep, Magnemite, and Growlithe. Needless to say it's pretty great.
