What new mechanics will Gen VII have?

I think we will have Pokemon Fusion.

Now that we are Digimon its obvious next gen will be all about the fusions.

Imagine the fusion of Blastoise and Venusaur coming to life?

Pokemon fusion isn't even a radical concept to the series. The concept has been around since gen 1 with slowbro, even if it never became a mechanic for that pokemon. Other pokemon combine with others of the same species (exeggcute, binacle), while still others require a particular pokemon to catalyze their own evolution.

The dragons fused in gen 5, demonstrating how it can work mechanically. Honestly, I think this has more interesting design potential than megas.
