If you release your starter he'll reappear on route 1 after you beat the Elite 4 and you can catch him. He'll have his hidden ability. It's the only way to get Contrary Serperior.

Uh, always look for the darker green grass when you're catching something. The monsters will be at a higher level.

Be more specific. A lot of stuff changed.

The coolest is that moves now have a physical os special propertie.
So for example, Waterfall is a physical water move and Surf is a special one. So you'd give Waterfall to a physical attacker (look at their stats) and Surf to a special one.
