Though, his example is still stupid, because there's no way that would happen, because once you get roared out, the next pokemon would obviously want to kill the Skarmory before it got it's rocks up. It'd be more beneficial to just set up SR as the Skarmory right away and die, than pointlessly Roar, then die.
Also, Rapid Spin is a thing. And yeah, that does take precious turns, but when you have a payoff like Megazard Y (Your weather setter, an insanely high Special attacking prowess, likliness as a sweeper, and your momentum shifter), it instantly becomes worth it to invest in that.
