At what point did the Pokemon Anime become shit? Since it's been shit for so long Japan felt it need to recently make an actually good pokemon anime.

As an animator, in the latest years it honestly looks like it's animated by one person, while normally animated programs will have dozens of animators. You could animate a whole episode one day. It looks like it's only made at 10 frames a second/.

And even then I can't decide which is worse, the japanese animation or the English dubbing.

I'd say it got shit around the point when it cut away from the Elite Four match to Ash's bedroom about ten seconds into the first episode.

Seriously though, Diamond/Peal series was pretty good, it got worst levels of shit after that.

The only reason early episodes may seem better is because it at least made sense for Ash to be a noob.

I think the animation has actually gotten more stiff and stilted over time and the animation was never anything special.
