Nope. There's a new Electric Field effect that does that though and boosts electric attacks. It activates Volt Absorb / Motor Drive / Lightningrod when you switch something with those abilities.

That's not confirmed. Most people get that from the Gamescom demo, but more likely Sylveon in that demo has some Multiscale-like Hidden Ability. Politoed did the same amount of damage with a crit at first, then normal the second time.

On the other hand, weather abilities appear to last only 5 turns (10 turns with the rocks). Good thing because perma-weather was Top Calibre Bullshit.

Normal type's pretty fucking good this generation, with Ghost buffs and Fighting nerfs.

The only glaring issue I see is that he needs a Grass move for Ground Types, and he can't really use Solar Beam with either ability.

Yeah no. Ghost is definitely up there now, but there are far more good dragons than Ghosts.

Will give you that Ghost/Fighting is the last unresisted type combo now that Fairy exists (Dragon/Fighting got fucked thanks to Fairies, and even if they didn't exist Aegislash would still resist)

Giratina is probably having a party now though.

They do. Togekiss is guaranteed an at least 80 BP move (more than enough to #rekt Chompy and Salamence at least) and Azumarill's confirmed to get a 90 BP Physical attack.

Now if only Togekiss gets Moonblast (dat 60% SAtk drop), that would be golden.

I Just hope he has a fun movepool. I'd love some grass moves, earth power perhaps, I dunno make it fun. A lot of Electric types have awful movepools, like 5 electric attacks and Hidden Power.

Having a normal-type move on this would be a waste. You're going to use something like Thunderbolt over a special normal-type 99 % of the time, most times when you can't use a electric-move it's probably a ground-type, which often are part rock so a normal-move would be almost as bad.

Because we know everything we need to know about mega mawile to make assertions about earthquake just 'solving' it, same with togekiss!

Just because a pokemon has a weakness to a single move that is frequent/common doesn't mean it's going to be ded, especially when you can't even make a proper claim about it's stats. Like that's the biggest issue here, is that you're writing off every one of them without even knowing how strong/fast/bulky they are.

Hence why I had a bunch of possiblys, and not all definitelys.

Definitely. I did a Ghost/Normal run - it's close enough to a mono-type run - in Black. I enjoyed that.

I've tried to keep from pigeon-holing myself into using only certain new Pokes but of the ones I want to use, besides the three I previously mentioned are Furfrou, Heliolisk, Malamar, Aurorus, Dragalge and Vivillion. Also only Fletchinder and not Talonflame... better design IMO.

Pulse moves is considered aura so Dragon Pulse, Dark Pulse, Water Pulse and Aura Sphere are some moves that will get buffed by the new ability. Hopefully they also have moves like Hydro Pump, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, etc. get buffed by it as well to reflect the Tough Claws ability which buffs a lot of physical moves.

Modest sounds appealing because Heliolisk already has a high Spe but I would put a bit more speed in it just to be sure.

He's much, much faster than all Flare Blitz users (sans Speed Boost Blaziken, who is Uber anyway) and most of them don't have very good Sp.Def anyway (with few exceptions in legendaries like Victini and Entei).

Sand Veil is banned, so Dry Skin is the only option for him. Helioptile will have 120 Sp.Atk STAB Thunder, and if it's played the way it's supposed to be played, in the rain, that Thunder has perfect accuracy. He can also be used to eat Water moves (some of the most common high strength moves in OU) thanks to his ability as well as Ghost moves through his Normal immunity.

No one's saying he's going to be Uber, or even OU, but you've gotta stop throwing perfectly good Pokemon into matchups you know they will lose and then claiming they're garbage.

I expect them to raise it's BST to 600, like they did with the others, and unless they give it an assload of special attack or speed for some reason, I doubt it's not going to hit 130, especially if they don't give it attack.

They said only Def and SpD would be raised so I do expect more than 130. That plus the nifty Intimidate bonus and you're pretty guaranteed to make a successful mega evo, a likely preparation for sweeping and even sweeping to some degree.

And in that case they'd have to do something retarded like dump 80 into SpA, (if they did that to speed it would just be faster than the standard threats), simply because getting both defenses to 130 is only 110, and would just boost it's bst to 490, which seems unlikely as the stopping point.

You know Abomasnow's Speed gets its Speed cut in half, right? We've already done the math.

Abomasnow -> Mega Abomasnow
HP - 90 -> 90
Attack - 92 -> 135
Defense - 75 -> 95
Special Attack - 92 -> 150
Special Defense - 85 -> 95
Speed - 60 -> 30

Unless there's a slower Mega Hippowdon or Mega Tyranitar is slower than Mega Abomasnow is, Mega Abomasnow is now the slowest weather setter in the game which only benefits it because its Hail will overwrite other weather if two Pokemon with weather abilities come out simultaneously. If Mega Tyranitar gets an ability change, Mega Abomasnow will also be the only weather setter in the game to be able to set up weather more than once through Mega Evolution.

Not only does halving his Speed help him technically, but he gets to spread those 30 points around too. He'll be absolutely terrifying with Trick Room.

Lastly, thanks to Mega Evolution on top of his weather ability, Blizzard becomes 100% accuracy coming off of 150 Special Attack. His Giga Drain will be great too.
