Actually, considering Josh received several mega stones without even looking (rock smashing and as Npc gifts) the only event-only megastones will be for pokemon outside the Kalos pokedex, for example, Mewtwo and Gardevoir are in the kalos pokedex, Torchic is not.

3/4ths of all pokemon are in the Kalos region, so it's safe to assume 3/4ths of all megastones are in X/Y.

You know there have to be like 10-20 megas we have no idea about. And we won't know about them until nintendo has a distribution with the pokemon holding the item, similar to the torchic distribution, or until someone takes apart the game data and finds it.

I never said that would happen. I implied that they've already been coded and they're just sitting there for nintendo to announce months after the game comes out.
