Every time i've done this I ended up disappointed. Basic pokemon evolve into ugly messes and you miss out on bros - Gen 6 particularly would have pissed me off since I would have likely ended up evolving Goomy into a fetishistic furfag monstrosity I despised.

Planning out your team is far more fun since you're actually hunting for your next party member rather than just passively moving to the next area.

But after seeing Talonflame's stats I'm not sure if I really want it on the team. An offensive stat under 90 is usually quite a drag, even ingame. The only other option is Hawlucha, unless Vivillion can learn fly (haha, no).

X team with alternates, then Y team with alternates. With nicknames (X is Arthurian themed, Y is French).

That's just with new ones, also will probably use some old Pokemon as alternates depending on early availability. So basically I have no clue what I'll be using, but general idea there.

And yeah I know there's repeat of Dark types in main X team and repeat of Psychic types in Y team.

It's fucking adorable. It depends on how it looks/works out in battle though. Mew's animation always put me off in B/W/B2/W2 because it looks like it shoving it's tail up...somewhere where it shouldn't be. Mew's R/S/E sprite was adorable, and I was sad it was not based on the Emerald "animation".

Anyone know if there will be a feasible way of getting all three starters without trading with other people? Well, I skipped second and third gen. When I got back into Diamond, it only took me a month or so before I knew it like the back of my hand. I dunno. It was just never something I found to be difficult.

I have always liked fighting type mons, so my team will be Chesnaught, Blaizekin, Pangoro, Hawlucha, Lucario and Tyrantrum (because who doesn't love a Dragon T-rex).
