Are you stupid? There was also a slot between Chesnaught and Fennekin.
It's pretty much obvious all starters are getting megas.

It's Chesnaught and Braixen. The first rival picks the starter that is weak to your starter, and the other rival you fight after they've already evolved to the 2nd stage. That space is Fennekin.

You know megas don't actually take up Pokedex slots, right?
Also, no gen VI pokemon are getting megas.

Tell me why anyone but Charizard should get more than two mega evos? Charizard is by far the most popular starter of the first gen, he's Red's best pokemon and it always been considered one of the most powerful and respectable mons (yeah, I know he's shit anyway). He's one of the mascots of the games, behind Pikachu.

Not for anything Charizard is representing Pokemon in Smash Bros where Blaziken just represent hoennbabies and furries.
