>It has been announced that within the show "The Professional" on Japanese channel NHK, there will be an episode featuring Tsunekaz Ishihara, the CEO of The Pokémon Company on October 28th. In it, it states that he was working on a game in the summer that is said to boldly tweak the Pikachu character. It's not currently known whether this is referring to Pokémon X & Y or a completely new game, but we'll provide details as and when we get them.

I'd say it might be that Pokken Fighters thing we saw with Pikachu as a fighter in it just for mascots reason. But perhaps not because Smash Bros already does this and isn't concerning for his popularity. Perhaps Pikachu Platformer.
