So was it ever canonically said that Arceus is the poke-god? With a creation myth being a part in Kalos, and Unova having their own too, I was just wondering if it was stated that Arceus is the pokegod or if Arceus just played a part in the SInnoh religion, Reshiram and Zekrom are part of the Unova religion.

You have to look at it this way and I constantly tell people this: If Arceus really was "God" he would be beyond any ability to be caught by a Pokemon trainer, traded over wifi, etc. All legendary Pokemon are normal Pokemon that have legends surrounding them cause they're so powerful. Arceus really isn't a god, it's just based off the god concept just like how Mew is based off the missing link concept. If the legendaries really are what people say they are there's no way any of them can be tamed or even be able to be put in a pokeball or trained by a trainer.

But thats the thing, Azure Flute was never actually given out or anything. All the legit arceus are from events that have nothing to do with reaching the hall of origin. So no one official caught him, bu you're not wrong, Arceus shouldnt be able to be caught.

It's things like this that make me wish they would either start putting books like you could find in Elder Scrolls in the game or actual books dealing with the lore. I love world lore and it would be interesting to learn about the pokemon world, its history and why things are like they are, and possibly the cultures of the different regions.

I've always thought of him being more of an avatar of a god, somewhat like how in the Christian mythos Jesus and the Holy Ghost are portrayed. Having some or most of the powers of the "god" with which he is associated, but limited by his physical form and being "sent here for a reason".

This guy gets it. Consider Arceus to be a Jesus or similar character, in that it isn't necessarily god but a projection of god in the form of a pokemon, as in not perfect but as close as a pokemon could get.

The Data says Arceus was born from an Egg, he is god-like, but I don't think he was the original Pokemon per say, power/status wise he is technically a god though.

Really, I believe it goes like this

>At first there was Mew, the origin of all Pokemon, he contains the DNA of all Pokemon according to his data up to the latest games, it's an embryo themed creature, it laid an egg, from which hatched Arceus, who created the Dragon trio and the world, which then ended up being filled with Pokemon.

Arceus's data saying he came from an egg to me doesn't contradict Mew, it just helps explain it better, honestly.

Mew gave birth to Arceus, who in turn gave birth to every other Pokemon as we know it today due to having all the DNA handed down from Mew.

Arceus did all the work which is why he's considered the Poke-god, but Mew came first.

And you don't need a god to explain how the egg got there in the first place, it can all be done with quantum mechanics and 'nothing', go read 'A universe from nothing' by Lawrence Krauss.

Have we seen those Pokemon do anything?

Dialga can distort time with Roar of Time, Palkia can distort space with Spacial Rend, and Giratina can shift in and out of dimensions with their signature moves. That doesn't mean much considering the fundamental fabric of reality.

That's headcanon at best, the pokemon may want to bond with a human trainer so decides to fight him on an equal level. Take the Pokespe version of Arceus for example, it wasnt a douche.

Pokemon like this exist, they're just super rare events. A shiny Celebi with a unique ID that has not been cloned, for example, is the rarest Pokemon you can get.

I'd be down for another one of those, but it would have to be a special distribution that isn't available in the game on it's own. Perhaps a VGC worlds exclusive DLC, or something else.
