I'm UTC +2 and I'm considering getting the games digital, if it's actually way ahead of the time the shops will be open on Saturdays.

IT's also 5 euros cheaper but this doesn't bother me much, I just want the games early.

It'll update at 12 midnight for your country, only exception being the US, it updates at 12 midnight on the east coast for the whole country.

So, countries in Europe being in the UTC or UTC+1 timezones will get it earlier ? I guess it's still fine having it on Friday night.

But wouldn't it be easy to mess with the 3ds clock and set it to UTC to get the game earlier ? Wouldn't hta work ?

Same sort of flaws as any first world country. Economy aint great, the culture is very set in its ways (even if they are obviously silly). Government is quite silly, and generally as useless as the US's in many respects.
