Arceus-Ghost is a viable Shadow Force user because it has the stats to fuck every potential Pursuit trapper sideways.
Unless this move is given to a physical ghost-type sweeper with enough bulk to stand against the laikes of Tyranitar and Weavile, it's pretty much useless.

Potentially useful if a fighting type sweeper gets it.
Only dark and normal resist ghost now and both types are weak to fighting so even if they switch in they're at disadvantage.
But as a STAB move, yeah, it screams "pursuit trap me plz" lol.

Even if it was COMPLETELY unavoidable, hitting through substitute and similar invulnerable phases of things like Fly and Dig, the fact that you take a whole turn to telegraph the move means at best that you'll get a wall cockblocking you for pitiful damage, or a Normal-type that completely shits on your efforts and takes no penalty. It's awful.

Protect is a thing you use in the first turn turn to set up speed boosts and toxic orbs.

It's a bait move. people will be tempted to switch with a normal or dark, who aren't really a threat to Yveltal to begin with, then second turn they get hit by something that actually hurts.

Being willfully ignorant and proud of it isn't going to win you arguments in a thread with people who actually play the games in it. Phantom Force is a shit move, Yveltal has a bad typing and bad stat distribution, and a UU-OU Normal-type is more than capable of abusing the free switch to fuck Yveltal up.

It's like making a Grass type attack with 70BP that takes a turn to charge except in sunlight. Pointless

Because GF is shit with move distribution for different types.

Fire-types get both Fire Blast and Flare Blitz, 120 BP with minimal drawback for both special and physical.

Dark-types, Ghost-types, Poison-types get, well... you see my point.

You kidding? Ice types have literally 4 viable moves. Ice Shard (because they're all super slow mother fuckers), Icicle Crash, Ice Beam, Blizzard.

Not all Ice Pokemon are special attackers, especially these huge physical walls GameFreak keeps making but they have no other options but Ice Shard and Crash. Might as well use a Water type of Ice Beam and Blizzard.

Protect users are hardly the biggest problem holding Golurk down. Shadow Punch does more damage per turn without telegraphing exactly what you're doing, so there will be no use for this competitively, at least not on Golurk.

The idea is that you switch in something that resists the phantom force, probably a dark type, and then when the guy using phantom force freaks out and try to switch to something that counters dark, you pull out Pursuit and ream their ghosty ass.
