If there wasn't the mandatory butterfly line there wouldn't be any at all. Ground get a legendary at least.

And let's not forget:

At the very least Gen 5 had loads of awesome bug types.

Can I remind you fuckers that bug had 18 Pokemon last gen, including a legendary, a practically pseudo-legendary, unique new type combinations for bug, 90% of the fully evolved one were dual-typed, etc.
