Help How do I get over my OCD of having perfect catch dates on my Pokemon? Are there even consequences to time travelling or does the game just not give a shit? What happens if I go backwards in time? I'm seriously obsessive enough that I want all the starters (and Torchic) to specifically be on an Oct 12th. Up to Riolu perhaps. The next dates I can tolerate would probably be 14th, 16th, 18th, 21st, 24th, 28th, 30th, 31st. Nov 1st, 7th, 9th, 13th, ... , so on. Yveltal (if I do take that long), Gengar, Aegislash, .etc will be specifically caught on Halloween. This has ruined my fun in previous Pokemon games. I skipped GenV because I didn't want to deal with it anymore. I though I'd rehabilitate myself this time, but I'm not sure how to even start.

But in truth, my life is pretty empty. First world problems though.

Wow. I'd suggest therapy, especially if you approach other aspects of your life in a similar fashion.

I dunno what to tell you. I do know that when I try to be 100%/perfect run in a game I rarely end up finishing it and I just 'trick' myself into thinking I'm having fun. If you can somehow force that mindset onto yourself you'll have a better time of it, but I couldn't tell you how... that's pretty intense.

As another man with OCD, albeit not with Pokemon, I can tell you the only way to stop it. DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE DATES. By caring about the dates, you only give OCD more power. Ignore the dates, and OCD will get weaker.

When I google for conditioning experiements againt OCD. It's more designed for OCD with neurotic washing of hands.
Granted I take my time with washing my hands and always use a paper towel for the faucet and door handles in public, but that's rational, isn't it?
