Would anyone mind telling me why /vp/ seems to hate the VGC metagame?

And for the love of Arceus, don't bring up the 2010 ruleset. It was arbitrary and it was crap, but we don't want to hear about it because it's no longer being used.

I don't play VGC and don't use their rules, but a lot of complaints I see from /vp/ is,

He is. The only real bullshit VGC has is no sleep clause (and let's face it, there's no way they can regulate that) and all the non-legendary ubers like SpeedBoost Blaziken being allowed.

The entire VGC doubles metagame is pretty great. Forcing players to explore a once uncommon style of play, is simply fantastic.

Yes, sleep clause would make things a bit less aggravating, but it's not like singles doesn't have its share of nonsense as well.

All of the non-legendary ubers allowed in VGC doubles don't even really excel outside of singles.

Let's also keep in mind that all grass types will be absorbing the move Spore now, while all electric types will be absorbing Thunderwave.

6th gen will probably be great to doubles, competitively.

Not to mention The Pokemon Company is doing an awesome job keeping players actively interested and engaged.
