So I just got to the point where the Prof gives you a Gen 1 starter... and with Charmander he gave me Charizardite Y straight away.

Is there any point of me resetting to find out if the same X/Y shit exists for the other guys?

I know it's popular, I get that. I have been on about this since the 90's though, he's fucking overrated and I really don't care for him that much, and it pisses me off that he CONSISTENTLY gets this glorified persona, shown as more powerful that it'll ever be in the anime, etc

At least your favourite starter got a Mega that is accesible in the main plot in the first place. Meanwhile, every other starter get's an exclusive event-only Mega, or worse, they don't get a Mega at all.

Actually, my favorite starter did NOT get a mega. While I like Bulbasaur best of the Kanto starters, my favorite is actually CHIKORITA. There will never be a MegaMeganium, I can almost promise it. Nobody likes it.

and FUCK man, I've been dealing with it since I first played Red, I'm just throwin' it out there. Feel free to mock on back, but I'm calling bullshit on it in general. They couldn't have used that extra mega form they gave Charizard to give, say, Mudkip or Treeko one, since Torchic is getting one? I know DLC and all, but I HATE this favoritism sometimes.

I know it won't make it go away but fuck...

The point was that OP was already setting up for dissapointing if he didn't expect Charizard to get favoritism. GF gave Megas to popular Pokemon. Charizard is the most popular Kanto starter. No matter how much OP whines, he will still get favored.

The NPC offers the mega stone for the mon that's good against the one you picked.
So if you pick Squirtle, you'll get his mega stone, and you can buy Bulba's stone later.

Why would GF do that? You can only get one Kanto starter per game, right? If they're doing it because you could trade to get other starters, wouldn't it make more sense to give you the mega stone for the Pokemon that's good against the Pokemon that's good against yours? It would make sense to pair a water with a fire type, so that you could counter someone trying to counter your water with a grass type, wouldn't it?

think about it, no one has torn the data of this game apart yet and I have yet to hear about people importing pokemon from b/w/2
so there just might be more new pokes that we have not seen or alt forms that have not been seen.

Well yes, we do actually. If it doesn't have an -X or -Y suffix on its held item then it is completely reasonable to assume that they simply don't have other forms.

Yes, but Mega Charizard X simply gets a 40+ boost to its Attack and Defense, which would be impressive in general, if it wasn't for the fact that Charizard's Attack is mediocre and even in its X form its Special Attack IS STILL HIGHER THAN IT. Plus, if you compare its Attack to the offensive stats of other Pokémon such as Gardevoir, Gengar, Mawile and so on it turns out to be very mediocre. The only thing I can see it being used more than other Mega Evolutions is Tough Claw being a 50% boost. Mega Charizard X is a really impressive and powerful Pokémon, but a really meh Mega Evolution.

Honestly, I couldn't give a fuck if there were 0 new Pokemon or it was a remake. The shift to 3D would have been a monstrous challenge, compared to designing the other games. I'd buy it just for the visuals.

Normal Charizard's Attack is 84, which gives him an Attack of 124 in X form - and that's not even taking into account the boost from Tough Claws. His Special Attack in normal form is only 109. So no, you're wrong.

It's his totally average base 100 Speed that will hold him back, nothing else.
