It was fucking stated that it doesn't work.

Mega Evolution has priority above everything, even if you have the highest speed, or use ExtremeSpeed or even fucking Protect, nothing goes before it.

I DOUBT anyone is gonna throw a Pokemon in and not Mega Evolve as soon as possible, at you can't revert the transformation, so it doesn't fucking matter.

Unless you used it earlier in the fight, doesn't work.

In fact, we don't even know if Mega Stones are 'used' like regular items. It doesn't say it 'used' the stone.
