I wonder if they're getting Megas? Houndoom was found on that trademark thing iirc, and Manetric was on a XY poster near Lucario, Charizard, Ampharos, and Absol.

Honestly, I'd rather have Aggron rather than Tyranitar in my in game team simpley because Aggron won't hurt every other pokemon in my team after it switches out.

If you are considering exclusives just for their smogon tier, you are dumb.
My point was that both aggron and cloyster are min-maxed with high defense and sort of high attack with shit tier HP, speed and special defense; while Starmie and Tyranitar are both pretty balanced.

I don't get the big deal about the version exclusives. The only ones worth caring about are the legendaries and the Charizardinites since not many people may be willing to give those away but you can easily get the rest through a trade or transfer them from an older game.

Exclusives define what pokemon you'll meet during gameplay, and while you can trade for it and then breed it, you generally do those after the end of the game where you have more freedom to roam and not have to focus on the story. It's also just a personal preference, like why grow an apple tree when you can buy one from the market.
