Gen 1 was eh, Gen 2 introduced a few good ones, Gen 3 was maximum overtroll, and Gen 4 was awful aside from better moves. Only Gen 5 got rid of that awful early bug syndrome, introduced a legendary, introduced a borderline legendary, and had a huge variety of new concepts and previous-unused arthropods. Gen 6 treated them more like 2 if not a little better would have been acceptable, not this bullshit like Vivillon being the only one and being Butterfree 3.0 at that.
