What's with all the hate on Avalugg? He seems to be a fine tank, especially with Ice Body and that Sp. Def raising held item. BUT M-MUH ICE TYPE you say?

Ferrothorn is usually considered to be the main "tank" pokemon these days. Dude's 4x weak to fire and 2x weak to fighting. Avalugg has 4 x2 weaknesses as opposed to 2 weaknesses like Ferro, but he's only weak to mostly physical types (Fighting, Rock, Steel) and Fire, but even then, his MASSIVE defense would stop these type of moves from doing a lot of damage to Avalugg, and he would heal right back up in no time with Leftovers, Hail, and Protect.

B-BUT BAD SPECIAL DEFENSE!!11!

No, fuck you. If you're sending this guy out against a special attacker, you're an idiot. He's a PHYSICAL tank. Would you send Ferro against Ninetails?

Unlike shitty special tank Cryogonal, Avalugg, on paper at least, excels at walling out even moves that destroy Ice because of his ridiculous defense stat, while still dishing out good damage thanks to his decent attack, all while healing thanks to his great ability.
