I've had no problem with raichu being overshadowed all these years for pikachus spotlight. However, with the rumors of pikachus mega evolution it's the first time it bothers me because it breaks the pattern of all other mega evos being of the final form, just for marketing appeal.

Definitely. A Mega Evo for Raichu would be awesome, and would encourage more people to actually give this lil' guy a chance.

I think people would like Raichu more, and he'd get the spot light for once. And with Raichu with a Mega Evolution, it could mean that Ash may finally evolve his Pikachu, and he would get a lot more popular

Raichu is one of my Gen I bros.

Before Pikachu became the Pokemon mascot, he was just that semi rare electric mouse Pokemon in Viridian Forest that was a fairly well team member.

When I caught a Pikachu in Viridian Forest, he became my bro.

When I evolved him to Raichu, he became even more of a bro to me.

Honestly, I've been wondering why Dedenne looks so much like Raichu.

...maybe they're hinting that they might be finally changing focus to Raichu, since it's a Raichu clone, instead of a Pikachu clone.

I mentioned to my friends it seemed like Raichu might evolve from Dedenne. Like, by levels, and then from pikachu by thunderstone. With Raichu breeding to Dedenne, and Pikachu breeding to Pichu.
