what happened to you getting a Pokemon game, not caring about anything and picking your favorite and not caring about strength and being the very best at being a Pokemon trainer?

I grew up this way, I have always loved picking my favorite looking one, not caring if it sucked or not! I have done my best at training a pokemon to be the best of what it can be.
