>>14466326Well, whole waifu thing started as a joke... Sure, it evolved over time but I guess the meaning is different depending on person. If you feel she's your waifu, she is, if you think there's something missing, not letting you call her that, just stick to favorite. I wouldn't concern myself too much with the waifu culture that grew in last years, you don't have to pretend she exists and eat with her and stuff like that. To me, a waifu is a character i have special feeling for, something more than just "favorite character of the anime/season/year/all time" but not really at the level of true love (it also depends on whether one ever felt it or not), I believe it could develop to that stage only if I met her. But yeah, that's just my point of view.
