I've always kind of thought there was a sort of "trifecta" between them.
You see Heracross and Pinsir a lot now, you saw Scyther and Pinsir before, and Heracross and Scizor were rivals in the anime at some point, right?

I mean, yeah, different canon and all, but I guess between the card games, anime, and games, they all seem to kind of come together in 3.

Ignoring the 4x stealth rock weakness which wouldn't apply to MegaPinsir, it is still weak to three of the most common special attacks in the game.
It isn't necessarily a bad typing with a phenomenal resistance to fighting and earthquake immunity, but it just isn't a very good typing either.

Normal evolutions might have worked in some of these cases, but with Megas they don't have to change the design of the Pokemon as much as with an evo.

I was kinda hoping for a ground evolution/mega evolution for pinsir, to get some use out of Earthquake and shit.

Really sucks that rocks demolish him now. Added ground immunity,grass and fighting resist wasnt all that needed either.
I really like how this one looks though.

The original hera's horn was thinner and had a very realistic crest on the very top. This mega's horns are thicker, less shapely, the one in the back barely curves, the one in the front doesn't have any spike indents and the angle is all wrong. It just doesn't look very good.

What's odd about the Megas being shown is that half of them appeared on that fake image of possible megas.

Sure, anyone shooting into a barrel is bound to hit some fish, but I'd never dream that a Mega Gengar or Heracross would happen.

I like Mass Effect 1, and I think Mass Effect 3 ruined everything. But Mass Effect 1 is still great! I'm not a "fairweather fan" I judge each piece of content individually, and so should you.

The difference here is that People don't have to even agknowledge MegaHeracross. They can still use normal Heracross. And it's not like using a less evolved form. It's just. Not gonna digivolve.

It's not so bad for Pinsir though since he can be used as an endgame sweeper. He can also be very usable in doubles, triples and rotations where he'd only fear rock slides but can be immune to E.Q.

As much as I can argue that there's no better or worse generation in Pokemon, design wise at least, I hate most of the Megas. And this is just horrid. I don't know where they could've gone with a Mega Scizor, but chainsaw hands wouldn't be on my list.
