This happened to me once back when I was getting starters for some friends in 6th grade.Long story short had to give up the shiny treecko because I found it in there game cartage.

It evolves into a tank with 70 speed. Jolly is not something you want, go for adamant or something that boosts a defensive stat.

They're not going to give a tank 90 speed. And if they did, its other stats would suffer for it. There was a thread that should still be up that had the base stats along with some confirmed moves of all the starters.

Fennekin can learn Aura Sphere by breeding, which can save it from two of its weaknesses, and you get a free Lucario as part of the story. There is no reason not to breed it as soon as possible.

You guys never used WFG? You dont need to worry about that shit since you can get anything you want there and people almost always have extras of the Pokemon with egg moves and solid IVs.

Theres no reason to use the starter of your first playthough for breeding

You can but it's VERY tedious. Also if you want to not waste time you're going to have to be called "Li'l _" for the rest of the game.

Though resetting for a Shiny is likely much easier since you'll know at the selection screen, whereas resetting for Gender/Nature involves wading through more dialogue and questions to get to the status screen.

Getting a nature that's useful in some way isn't that difficult.

There's obviously limits to this thing but I ditched my Modest Hawlucha because having the most detrimental nature possible wasn't going to fly.
