I encouraged my sister to reset for a Timid Fennekin.

I resetted for a Naive Froakie. I would have went for Jolly since mixed is mediocre, but I'll need to breed to make this thing viable anyways.

Why would you want your first poke to have perfect set up, when you're just going to ruin its EVs as you go through the game? Unless if you're going to deposit it straight away then fair enough.

I'd rather go with Jolly since he at least has great moves (Water Shuriken, U-Turn) even if it is slower, or Naive/Hasty.

Speed is always great for battling with others. You usually only go for the +Offensive when it's so slow it'll never outspeed anyone else anyways, or if you have Blaziken speed boost.

Anything else works in-game.

I got a Timid Froakie after my third reset. I was lucky compared to my friend who was going for an Adamanat Chesnaught--he went on for about 3 hours and then settled for Careful I think.

What's terrible is that I've played for almost 5 hours and I havent left the first patch of grass. I super trained my Froakie to the max, speed and special attack and he's still lvl 6. So now I'm going to have to do that with every pokemon I get that I want to actually keep.

There is no soft reset option like Fire Emblem.

You turn off the game manually. The fastest is by powering off (going to sleep screen) then pressing home screen.

Or press home screen, close, click, which takes longer.

Yeah, my friend told me about the tutorial super training so I made a pidgey do it lol. But don't worry, because you can get a reset bag that will reset all of your EV training to date for that pokemon. So what you should do is keep super training with your starter and clear every single stat challenge and go all the way through lvl 3, and make sure you get the award in each one. Then you'll unlock the secret levels.

But yeah, hit the default bag until you find a reset bag and start over if you dont want defense EV's.

Hi. I have a pokemon probability question. I'm soft resetting for a gene perfect pokemon in red/blue. I can't post my own thread and this thread seems to match the subject matter almost so I hope you don't mind.

What is the average span of time i'll have to wait for me to roll 4 15s when each 15 can be 0-15?
The HP DV will automatically go to 15 if the others are 15 since the boost in HP is decided if the other DVs are odd numbers so I don't have to worry about rolling 5 15s

What I am currently doing is playing pokemon stadium on Times 4 speed. I am at the game corner with 1 pokemon in my party and I am playing with fast text speed to obtain 5 abras. I can get 1,200 abras an hour this way.

Thanks to anybody who can tell me how long on average i'll have to wait

Guy who posted the probability question here. I don't know if this works in later gens but if you press B to scroll through the text when you obtain your starter I think that will scroll through the text and auto select *no* at the nickname question so you don't have to worry about nicknaming in order to save time

I have been trying to get an Adamant/Jolly Chespin for the past 4 hours. The only +Atk nature I've gotten is Lonely and my autism won't allow me to use that because Chespin's defense is one of his best assets.

I've just started soft resetting to try and get a shiny starter. Does it show on the top screen display of the pokemon if it is a shiny? I'm not sure whether to just reset when I see that all the poke's are normal or to choose one and then check it.

If I roll 4 16 sided dice at the same time, how long will it take me to get 64 if I roll 1,200 times per hour?

You are correct in saying that Gen 1 does not have IVs. But they do have a system like the IVs called DVs. Instead of maxing out at 31 per stat like the IVs, the DVs max out at 15.

I have a dice generator now thats pretty good but I have to scroll through its list of generated numbers which is like 100k rolls i'm scrolling down through to find a 64. Takes awhile. I'll have to do that if I can't get an answer or a link to a better calculator

This'll be my last post on it, don't want to shove the topic on you guys. I'm really desperate for an answer and i've been looking for hours so whoever can help you have no idea how happy i'll be.

I can't imagine trying for a shiny on top of it through resets. If I got one, I'd want it to be through IV breeding.

For reference, it takes nearly 1 minute for a full reset cycle up to nickname entry.
Be sure to set L = A and fast text in options.
I didn't measure Summary time for those also interested in shinies.
