For anyone who cares, in the route right beside the first gym, route 22 I think. There are riolu there. They have a very low appear rate however.

They've really diversified what you can find in the beginning of the game.

Found a Pansage and Panpour in that forest. Pretty sure Pansear is there too if this is the case. Going to keep looking

Doesn't matter the 3rd Gym Leader gives you a Lucario with a Lucarionite after you beat her

I think a lot of Pokémon just 'appear' to have a low encounter rate solely because of the huge amount of Pokémon per route.

Because I just caught one, it was the first thing I saw in this particular flower patch.

hone edge is on route 6 in the really tall grass, you can also find kecleon there, and I recommend getting an oddish with sweet scent as it can force hordes like honey does but with unlimited use. really helpful for those horde only pokemon

And I'm sorry but I haven't encountered heracross yet.

On your way to amurette town, before the second gym, right outside the zoobat cave place. They are a 5% encounter rate, they are in the place you find the wild absol, drifblim, seviper hordes etc.

Also there are axew in the zoo bat roost cave
