When I'm only using one pokemon, does it take exp points from that pokemon and share it over the other 5? Or do you get additional exp points?

I've been playing, and it gives all other pokemon additional exp but they get no EVs at all

50% of the EXP goes to the fighter(s), the other 50% is distributed evenly amongst the rest of the team.

I believe.

I turned it off, lest Torchic get too beefy and turn into steriod bird when I'm not looking.

no, no points are taken away from the one pokemon you used, nor are you given additional exp.

all it does is take the exp the pokemon you used in battle earned, half it, and then give that amount to each pokemon in your party.

it's going to be a godsend postgame.

weird. i was just testing it ( fighting the same wild pokemon with the exp share on and off) but the first pokemon still got the same amount of exp.

i really should pay more attention to the stats of all the pokemon. but can't bother doing it now

The fighter does receive 100% exp, it's just that the rest of the team receive 50% each too
