Heard something about having to select it and then look at it in summary, it won't appear shiny in the preview when selecting. Not sure whether it's true though.

Put a limit on it for yourself. Like 275 or 337 or whatever. It's a psychological thing, where you'll get rewarded either by "what you want" (the shiny) or "allowing yourself to stop punishing yourself" (reward being playing the game without feeling bad about it, because you really friggin tried!).
