Hey /vp/ riddle me this.

If I my Greninja has perfect EVs, nature, a diverse skillset, and pretty good IVs (not perfect, but good) will it do okay in wifi battles, or do most people have perfect hacked Pokes ready to come in December?

I'm just getting into this game, and I really don't wanna abandon my bro.

Compare it to my experience in Gen V's random matchup using normal IVs:
- Will definitely win against eight year olds without any EV training ideas
- Will stand a good chance against other standard IV teams
- Will lose against suspiciously shiny (especially Tornadus/Thundurus) teams.

As long as hacks aren't in (and they probably already are, let's face it), you'll be fine.

What's that? I've seen those mons on Showdown, but what makes those so particularly lame?

You'll be fine for the most part I think. Your bro might get outsped by other base 125s or perhaps even 120s because of your imperfect speed IVs.

Those two in particular are incredibly difficult to get as shiny with the correct natures and really good IVs, because those factors are determined much earlier in the game.
