>>14544406This is /vp/ in a nutshell - several extremely judgmental people who are also terribly insecure, who assume everyone else is as judgmental as they are.
They deeply fear that they come across as autistic to others but at the same time they zero in on traits for anything remotely spergy and blow it out of proportion. Its the exact same phenomenon behind the hate on "furbait" pokemon, memes and pop-culture references in games, etc. They see traits in themselves that they dislike, and they're super paranoid about it so they start seeing these traits everywhere, and they can only feel better about themselves by exaggerating these traits in others and then tearing them apart.
Basically, they've convinced themselves that many very benign things are completely socially unacceptable, and they're worried that if they don't go over the top espousing their hatred of those things and the people who like them, they'll instead be mistakenly associated with it and judged by the same criteria they themselves use.
>"If I don't vocally hate this fedora pokemon, everyone will think I'm autistic and they'll hate me." >"If I don't vocally hate this feminine looking pokemon everyone will think I'm a furry and they'll hate me.">"If I don't complain about this pop culture reference in a game everyone will think I'm a geek and they'll hate me."Of course, normal people don't actually give a single fuck at all, but many /vp/ers either don't realize this or actively deny it - they cant conceive of a world where people have different opinions, attitudes, and approaches than they do. Which, ironically, is rather
autistic of them.
