So now that the dust has settled, is it worth getting a 3DS for X and Y? Should I wait for Pokemon Z? I've emulated every single gen since Gold and Silver and I don't regret it.

But from an unbiased standpoint, it's definitely better than all the games before it. There's almost no arguing that.

Z's not even a guarantee anymore. Remember Pokemon Grey? Because I remember that as BW2 where you were entirely lost on the story if you didn't play BW.

You won't be able to emulate this for at least a year or so.
If you will play ONLY Pokémon, I don't think it's worth it.

I'll buy a 2DS for Pokémon and Animal Crossing, mainly. Maybe get some Mario games and Super Smash Bros.

There is really nothing else I want to play on 3DS until MH4, and I'll wait out the console port. So it's a question of whether X/Y are worth $200.

Me being unbiased, I bought my 3ds in the beggining of the year to play Kingdom Hearts 3ds, Mario, etc. I also wanted one so I could play X and Y.

About two months ago I sold my 3ds and got a 3ds XL because they were so much fun. I honestly love it and its concept. I recommend you getting one just because of how fun they are.
Now back to the pokemon topic. X and Y are honestly the BEST pokemon games ever. Theres so much to do and it keeps you so occupied. Its honestly the most fun i've had playing a pokemon game ever and thats saying a lot. If I knew how fun X and Y are and I didnt have a 3ds I would definetly buy one JUST for it. I say yes buy one just for X and Y but there are also other good games on the 3ds that you can play.
