Hey /vp/. Got this yesserday, haven't played a Pokemon game since like....Sapphire.

I'm about level 40ish across the board, just got the grass badge.

How do I know which Pokemon I should actually train and which I should discard?
How do I know what I should put the EV points into?!
Any general tips on anything really? my Blaziken is so high I keep getting past my current badge and it won't listen to me!
