So what's the consensus /vp/? Is this the best game of the series? Is it just really good? okay? shit? Let me see some opinions.

It is pretty solid so far. I still HATE the low amount of new Pokemon but the rest of game makes up for it.

Overall= 9/10

The game has a lot to do outside of the typical gym leader/evil organization progression, so that's nice. The minigames in XY are a lot better than the past two generations and there's such a large variety of Pokemon in each area, which is a great touch. I'm liking it so far, but it's definitely getting casualized.

I love Hoenn trumpets but I can't see how you can say Hoenn is the best.
I'm guessing you haven't played gen 6.

The variety of pokemon is pretty amazing, like nearly romhack levels up variety. You could probably fill a good amount of the dex on kalos alone. Ev training has a sweet alternate option, trainer customization, good music, the list goes on really.

Only complaints;
low amount of new pokemon
not enough animation in pokemon models
diagonal movement gets wonky sometimes

I honestly believe that the Wonder Trade system, even when you are cursed with a plague of Bunnelby, is one of the best things about this Gen imo

This game actually makes me want to catch them all for some reason. I've skipped that part for the last two gens because there are so many but that's changed.

I just finished the E4 and after the stuff I've seen on here, I plan on catching every wild pokemon available/evolving shit I have/etc.

Here's my opinion of it

the gym battles were horrible
every single last one of them was really bad

no gym leader uses more than 3 pokemon and many of them have only 1 kalos pokemon

it's really telling how easy the game is when the champion is the only trainer who uses 6 pokemon

story is terrible but whatever

very few new pokemon but there's a shit ton of old pokemon in game, this will be a great game for nuzlocke challenges

pacing is kinda misleading, the gap between gym 1 and gym 2 is quite big but the gap between gym 4 and gym 5 is ridiculously short

team flare a shit

super training and pokemon amie are amazing (too bad they're not adding them to gen 7)

postgame content is shit

overall i give the game a 6/10

I was under the impression it was a 9/10 when I first started playing it but it gets dull quite fast
