IVs =/= EVs

You can train EVs, IVs are a random number for every stat that are assigned to a Pokemon whenever you catch/breed. Completely bullshit mechanic that rewards autists/cheaters.

I thought someone said that IVs were maxed in pvp battles. I guess a way to test would be to have something at exactly 50 and enter a battle to see if their stats change

IVs = genes (can't change)
EVs = training (can change)
Lots of people don't like IVs because they find it too difficult to use the power items to breed a key IV onto offspring or have the false impression that you need 31 IVs across the board or else your Pokemon are horrible.
