I feel bad whenever I beat Serena because she has that pinching her bridge animation and she's one of the only rivals that seems genuinely discourged when you beat her. I'm guessing it's because at the beginning she was kind of the "expert" on pokemon among your friends, yet you, somebody who is totally new at it, wipes the floor with her everytime. Still I'm curious to know, does she always have Jolteon? Or does it maybe vary depending on how many times you bear her like with blue?

I knew this will happen when the opposite gender PC is revealed as the rival. The opposite gender PCs as NPCs are always shit-tier characters in previous gens since their gender are dependent on yours and Gamefreak doesn't seem to want potential PCs to have any distinguishable characteristics.

I hope Pokemon Z/X2/Y2 gets an actual character as the main rival instead.
