They've got models for the other trainers, they're just making this game as shit as possible so that they can come out with the inevitable third version which puts everything in that the original game didn't. Then everyone praises GameFreak for such masterful work.

Fuck off. It annoyed me too, especially how they pan in on the other side as if there was a model there only to be greeted with the front of a cardboard cutout.

Actually I haven't been those people complaining up a storm, this is just one thing that I think it backward as hell.

I don't see how its a reach around. Thimk about it. GENERIC and NAMELESS grunts who don't appear that often get fully animated 3D models. Trainers which appear far more often and have names only get 2D cardboard cutouts, as well important characters such as gym leaders.

Sometimes it would roll three times and pop out saying "Oh no, it appears to be caught!"

Other times it would roll once and catch the pokemon.

Then I get a 2D drawing, which is a shame because I dont really care for the new style too much.
The 3D animated models just threw me for a loop.

But I assume that they have their reasons and its more about time and demands than it is about design
