Kalos 'mons sucked; I kept promising I'd leave some space on my team for them each time I added a Kanto Pokemon, but before I knew it, Froakie was the only new Pokemon I had on my team when I got to the league.

The exp share basically made the game baby difficulty. I mean, it gives the battling pokémon 100% exp and ALL the others in your party 50%

I hope you're speaking aesthetically, because Talonflame is basically a flying infernape and Vivillion is probably the best Bug/flying, which is a lot of fucking Pokemon.

2 Electric Pokemon, 1 not until the 2nd Gym and I hadn't seen the other. This isn't a generation where using new Pokemon only is really beneficial.

That said, my team is 5 of 6 new Pokemon, my only old Pokemon being Raichu.

I've found that using exp share is the best way to level those Pokemon you want to fill the dex with.after the 3rd badge I turned it back on, slapped 4 low level Pokemon in my team, and went around battling hordes with my Sylveon.

These were the games that made me realize that the only 'mons I care about are mostly Kanto and Johto Pokemon. Fuck, I could probably only count thirty to forty Pokemon after them that I think are as good as those 251.

Doesn't really matter though, as I only bought these games to play them in 3D like most of us always wanted to.

Strawman. I don't grind with the exp share, and I don't grind without. In one world, i'd be at level 18 with the gym leaders being a couple levels higher. In a world with exp share, I'm 5 levels over the gym leader's strongest.

My OCD demands I can only use pokemon introduced in the 6th generation.

It also demands that mega evolutions do not constitute as pokemon introduced in the 6th generation.

This has been recurring since I first bought Pokemon back in 1999.

ANy Pokemon appearing in the game is FROM Kalos.

Technically, Eevee is native to Kalos since it can be found in the wild there. It's just an import in Kanto.

Yeah, I just bought the other version digitally (because I have no self-control). Going to to do this properly, with no EXP Share on. And Set, though I had that on the first time around.

The Amie bonuses, are they permanent? Debating whether I should ignore them as well.

They tailored this game to encourage people to use previous gen mons.

Pokemon-wise: 1 > 2 = 5 > 3 > 4 > 6

Even with its lower number, this gen has the worst bad:good design ratio of any other gen, which is almost acceptable because they appeared to have realized this during development and filled it with past gen 'mons.

The lack of variety is the main issue.
Half the Kalos mons are either Fairy, Water, Dragon or Ghost
There's only one family for Poison (Skrelp) one for Bug (Vivillon) and one fucking pokemon for Ground (Diggerby)

Almost everyone doing Kalos mons is using Florges, Aegislash, one of the fossils + starter
