Jesus Christ the characters in the game are absolutely soulless

The 'rivals' barely challenge you, they just show up just to spout useless information then either disappear or stay in one spot
The Gym Leaders are probably the most forgettable in recent memory, Hoenn's gym leaders were more memorable than these statues

I want to enjoy the characters and story, but Game Freak made it impossible, what the fuck happened?

They did a pretty damn good job of making you remember Korrina. Mostly because you have to fight her three times and she's tied into the whole mega evolution thing.

I totally agree on the rivals though. Shauna is the only one I like out of the bunch. Calem is such a disappointment.

I like Shauna. She's cute and has an enjoyable and energetic personality, you do stuff with her and it looks like she's really your friend. Her soft brown skin looks delicious and her hair looks like a pokemon's claws.
Trevor isn't as great but at least he has a gimmick that makes him stand out. It would be better if you'd actualy see him dance with his pokemon.
The other two are fucking tutorial-spouthing shit tier.
