Once the PokéBank comes out, imma fire up Soul Silver (and maybe finally play that HeartGold I bought and never played) so I can send some mons with the Johto balls to Kalos.

Generally I like to have a mixture of all six that correspond to the colour design of the pokemon.

Can't do that this generation because i've got three starters, but at least I have Heliolisk in an Ultra Ball, Dragalge in a Heal Ball, and the Dusk Ball's purple effect matches Aegislash.

For some reason I've made it a thing to catch legendaries in newer games with premier balls.

I like the looks of Luxury and Timer balls, and the catch effect of Dusk balls

I try to use different balls that fit the colour scheme of the Pokemon I'm catching. My shiny Metagross I caught in an Ultra Ball and my Cobalion I caught in a Quick Ball.

Luxury and Premier are always good though.
