Until we can get 3DS data mining abilities (or confirmation from Gamefreak) then nothing will be set in stone. it's all speculation until then. But I still believe it affects certain things. The varying Mega Stone guy's prices in Lumiose, shiny encounters.

Think of it like this. Say in previous games the shiny rate is 1/8000
Lets' say now it's halved to 1/4000

Most people find their shinies in horde battles.
that's 5/4000 chance from one instance.

I honestly just think the odds are a lot higher this Gen.

Just MM'd this dude like 30 minutes to a hour ago, got him after 12 eggs. Larvesta eggs take fucking forever to hatch though, even with Flame Body. Glad it didn't take very long.

The tipping thing is bullshit. I've been playing since the launch, have tipped everyone I've met except the scary house guy, and I've not found one shiny yet.

I even tried a little experiment today by going to like 10 cafes and tipping the waiters $1000 every time I come in, and still nothing.
