The Gym Leader battle theme would be 10/10 if it was in an F-Zero game or something, but it's real unfitting in Pokemon. It grew on me a lot though. The only other good battle themes I've heard so far are Team Flare Leader and VS Yveltal. Rest sound extremely uninspired so far, especially the trainer battle music.
Still a far, far better soundtrack than the rest of the main games to me. Only thing the others have over it is RSE and BW2 have far better battle tracks, but the overworld and cutscene music is far better in turn.
Colosseum and XD are GOAT soundtracks all around. Tsukasa Tawada for Gen 7 soundtracks, please.>>14614169Masuda doesn't compose the brand-new battle themes in re-releases and remakes. That includes BW2. Meanwhile, he composed most of the XY battle themes on his own.
