I hate surf, earthquake, muddy water, thunder, return animations. They seem so weak.
3rd gen had the best animation from attacks.

Also Greninja is pretty good too. I like how everything looks so much better in motion, when the final evos were leaked they looked like such shit but they're now my favorites.

parabolic charge and mega-evolving look amazing with 3D turned on. Water shuriken is also pretty sweet. I like medicham's battle animation, it's not very exciting but the fluidity in the arm waving and the whole character model flows so smoothly.

Sometimes I'll find myself using lesser attacks just because the animations are cooler. My favorite attacks that I've seen so far are Retaliate, Surf, Flame Charge, Bounce, and Brave Bird. And pretty much all of Greninja's animations are real neato. Gamefreak really outdid themselves with animations this gen.

Kirlia is fucking adorable since she does ballet moves when attacking or in amie
Gardevoir has this little bow thing she does, too.

I got my Mawile to max affection and the way it looks back at me when I send it out like it's saying "I've got this" is awesome.

The whole affection system and animations are doing a really fucking good job of making me care about my Pokemon.

Aura Sphere and Dragon Pulse are insane

Hawlucha probably has best all around animations though, even its Amie stuff is pretty good.
